Local Firm Designs Innovative Logo The Foundation worked with Alderson, Caters & Hardy, a local young creative firm from Thorold, to develop their corporate identity. The design of the Niagara Community Foundation logo depicts the Niagara region, situated between the south shore of Lake Ontario and the north shore of Lake Erie, encompassing all twelve municipalities. The wordmark of Niagara Community Foundation is juxtaposed with the opposing shores of the respective lakes, literally representing the geographic location of the Foundation - the Niagara Peninsula. The shores of the lakes also convey a feeling of movement, conjuring visions of the activities of the Foundation in conjunction with a focus on the community. This continuity of focus and action conveys the fluid nature of the Foundation in response to community needs. The colours of the logo, dark forest green and light tan, represent the growth of the community through the vision of the foundation, as well as the beautiful natural environment of the Niagara Region. These colours also convey a feeling of warmth and life, while maintaining a prestigious tone and image. Although the Niagara Community Foundation deals with complex issues, the design of the logo is uncluttered, allowing the logo to remain current within the changing climate of the community. The clean design lends itself easily to diverse usage in multiple media, including signage, engraving, web-based projects and print, with an easily identifiable look. The Niagara Community Foundation logo will convey the Foundation's identity both locally in the community and throughout Canada, continually underscoring the roots of the Foundation within the Niagara Peninsula. ^ Back to Top ^ |
