May 24: Case for Support with special guest- Marla Smith, Director of Development, Niagara Children’s Centre
Marla Smith is an accomplished Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) with over 15 years of experience. As the Director of Development at Niagara Children’s Centre since 2017, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture, inspiring her team to achieve their full potential.
Marla is widely recognized for her expertise in authentic relationship building and her deep understanding of philanthropic best practices. Her passion for philanthropy shines through in her work as an active member of the AFP Golden Horseshoe, where she holds leadership positions as the Chair of National Philanthropy Day and Co-Director of Education.
Marla’s track record in Major Gifts, Donor Relations, and Legacy Giving is a testament to her professionalism, strategic thinking, and dedication to making a positive impact in the community. Her leadership and advocacy for philanthropy have been instrumental in driving the success of Niagara Children’s Centre, and she continues to inspire and empower others to make a meaningful difference through their philanthropic efforts.

This session will go over the basics of a capital campaign to help you determine if you are ready to consider such a project.
