Niagara Community Foundation helps facilitate the Niagara Funders Alliance, a network of funding organizations that service the Niagara Region.
NCF empowers the charitable sector here in Niagara through grants, resources, governance coaching, and professional development opportunities. On this page, charity partners will find guides and resources to better amplify your message and allow you to confidently share your story.
NCF grantees are required to acknowledge each grant received. Please refer to the guidelines listed below for the various different aspects of your acknowledgement.
By promoting the funding you received from NCF, you are helping us encourage future donors to turn their intent into impact through NCF; your story helps demonstrate the impact of our work in the community.

For all grant acknowledgement inquiries, questions or concerns, please email communications@niagaracommunityfoundation.org.
Please share the news of your grant through a media release, social media posts, newsletters, brochures, financial statements, community/daily newspapers, board and committee meetings, donor lists, annual reports, etc.
Grants approved by NCF’s Board of Directors are reported to the community through NCF’s annual report, press releases, and other publications.
Whenever possible, please include a social media post to acknowledge the grant received. Please tag NCF on all your posts so that we can reshare your good news.

Whenever possible, please include the NCF logo on all publicized materials including (but not limited to), website, signage, brochures, posters, flyers, videos etc. Please send a draft of any published materials to NCF's staff before publication to ensure brand guidelines are followed.
Some organizations chose to use a donor wall to recognize the contributions of the community. If you are listing an NCF grant on your donor wall, please follow this template:
Niagara Community Foundation- [Fund Name]
For signage that supports your program, we recommend that you include the NCF Main logo. If your design allows for it, you can include a simple acknowledgement such as:
This project was made possible with the generous support of the Niagara Community Foundation- [Grant Name] Program.
Highlight the support your organization has received by recognizing NCF on your website and all promotional and resource materials developed for and by the funded activity for the period of one year from the receipt of the grant, with the NCF logo and the following acknowledgement where appropriate:
“(GRANTEE) gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Niagara Community Foundation (NCF); a public foundation serving the people of Niagara since 2000. NCF connects donors to causes and communities to resources through permanent endowment funds, providing grants to eligible charitable organizations in culture, health, education, environment, recreation and social service sectors. NCF turns intent into impact."
For David S. Howes Fund Grants, please use the following acknowledgement when highlighting the support of your grant:
"(GRANTEE) gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Niagara Community Foundation (NCF)- David S. Howes Fund; a public foundation serving the people of Niagara since 2000. NCF connects donors to causes and communities to resources through permanent endowment funds, providing grants to eligible charitable organizations in culture, health, education, environment, recreation and social service sectors. NCF turns intention into impact."
If you have received a Donor Directed Grants, please follow the requests of the donor, listed in the letter that you received with the cheque. For grants that welcome public acknowledgement of the fund, please follow this template:
"[Grantee] gratefully acknowledges the support of the Niagara Community Foundation- [FUND NAME] Fund."
"Established in 2000, Niagara Community Foundation has raised over $92.5 million and has granted in excess of $34.3 million to charities working in the arts, heritage, environment, social services, health, education and community development sectors. NCF connects donor to causes and communities to resources, turning intent into impact."
