As you look through our blog, you will be encouraged by the stories of our donors and inspired by the impact of our charities. But there is another group that plays a vital role in helping us turn intent into impact: our allied professionals.
Allied professionals are the lawyers, wealth advisors, investment brokers, and financial advisors who help clients meet their financial goals while keeping in mind their philanthropic wishes. Balancing these two priorities is not simple; however, in partnership with a community foundation, the job is made easier.
NCF is Niagara’s philanthropic partner. We are a bridge between allied professionals and the needs of Niagara, connecting donors with causes and communities with resources. In partnership with allied professionals, we help individuals meet their financial goals while keeping their philanthropic intentions top of mind.
This partnership has many benefits. “I have connected many of my clients with the Niagara Community Foundation over the years,” says Gary Talosi, retired wealth advisor in Port Colborne. “I often have clients who want to leave a gift to charity, but they don’t know the best way to go about it. Sometimes it’s a large gift that will have a significant impact on their finances, and for others, they want to start planning for a legacy gift down the road. Whatever the scenario, I can make a simple call to the NCF office and know that the staff will help the client meet their philanthropic goals. My client is taken care of, my business builds a reputation of community partnership, and the residents of Niagara are positively impacted. It’s a win-win-win.”
“Working in partnership with NCF is seamless and transparent,” says Michael Mann, Partner with Lancaster, Chown & Welch LLP and NCF Board Chair. “Each client has a unique story. Some have a very specific idea of how they want to leave a legacy within their will, while others know they want to leave a gift to charity, but don’t know the best options to do that. I never hesitate to suggest connecting with NCF because I know that they can tailor-make a fund agreement that will meet the individual needs of my client. Their process is clear-cut and straightforward, and the added bonus is that it takes the heavy lifting off my shoulders while still providing the best service for my clients.”
NCF has partnerships with allied professionals across Niagara. If you are an allied professional or you are working with someone personally, consider reaching out to our Executive Director, Bryan Rose, to learn how NCF can support you in helping to turn your intent into impact.
