Reclaim & Rise! Black Philanthropy Month, Part 3
During our research for this post, we read through many stories of individuals who shaped our community. There are four individuals that we wanted to highlight, demonstrating their collective action, community investment and Black leadership that together exemplify the history of Black Philanthropy in Niagara. In Part 2, we share our first two stories. Come back next week for Part 3.
August is Black Philanthropy Month (BPM), a recognition of the contributions, the generosity and the leadership of Black members of our community. Each year, a theme is selected to focus our attention. The theme for 2025 is Sankofa Now! Remember. Reclaim. Rise!
In March of this year, the Niagara Region's population broke through the half a million barrier.
In honour of Pride month, we want to highlight a fantastic organization in Niagara that received donor directed grants.
The month of May is recognized across Canada as Leave a Legacy Month, a national campaign to raise awareness about the importance and potential impact of legacy giving. As Niagara’s philanthropic partner, NCF is championing this message. Join us as we both raise awareness about this important campaign and celebrate NCF’s own 25 year legacy.
March 8 is International Women’s Day, an opportunity to empower, uplift and celebrate the women in our community.
NCF is proud to publish our Five Year Strategic Plan. This living document shapes and guides our work as a community foundation and acts as a road map for future growth and development.
Another year is coming to a close and we are overwhelmed with gratitude for all your support, partnership, investment and most of all, care for Niagara.
