Black Philanthropy Month

Black Philanthropy Month

Posted Aug 9th, 2024 in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Philanthropy

August is Black Philanthropy Month, an international campaign to celebrate the impact that Black philanthropy is having on our communities. The definitions of philanthropy goes much deeper than financial contributions. Philanthropy is upholding the values of generosity, caring for and empowering your community.

These values are shared among many Black communities across Niagara, coming from a diversity of backgrounds and cultures. This is demonstrated by the Black-led, and Black-focused organizations here in Niagara, who are shaping the future of our community.

This month, and always, we celebrate these nonprofits, charities and grassroots organizations. These groups are giving back in tangible ways, through empowerment programs, advocacy work, Black-centered services, and so much more.

Below are some examples of groups that are investing in our community. If you’re not familiar with the work of these amazing organizations, click on their logos to find out more and support their efforts.
