August is Black Philanthropy Month, an international campaign to celebrate the impact that Black philanthropy is having on our communities. The definitions of philanthropy goes much deeper than financial contributions. Philanthropy is upholding the values of generosity, caring for and empowering your community.
Allied professionals are the lawyers, wealth advisors, investment brokers, and financial advisors who help clients meet their financial goals while keeping in mind their philanthropic wishes.
A movement is building across the country. Over 3 million* Canadians have left a gift in their Will to charity. We’re not talking about celebrities or wealthy philanthropists, these are ordinary people who are using the power of their Wills to make a big difference.
What comes to mind when you hear "Will"? It used to evoke legal jargon and future uncertainties, but now Wills encompass much more.
As we reflect on the word philanthropy, there is often a connotation that philanthropy is reserved for the elite.
